The QTERM-G58 is an ideal handheld computer for rugged applications in manufacturing, forestry, agriculture, asset management, process control, robotics, utilities and field service. This RoHS Compliant color graphic human machine interface (HMI) features Qlarity® object-based programming and a broad set of industrial grade hardware features and options.

The QTERM-G58 is available in three models with different feature sets to accommodate varying requirements and cost targets.

Operator Interface Hardware

  • 320×240 pixel color transflective sunlight readable TFT LCD display measuring 89 mm (3.5") diagonal.
  • Rugged handheld ABS case available in blue, gray or black with black rubber overmold.
  • Optional hard-wired, four-wire E-stop (G58L and G58E models).
  • 24- or 40-key steel-dome membrane keypad; optional lighted keypad.
  • 4 or 5 programmable LEDs on keypad, plus shift and power LEDs.
  • Serial port EIA-232 (G58L) or software-configurable EIA-232/422/485 multiport (G58E and G58B).
  • Ethernet 10Base-T/100Base-TX interface (G58E).

Qlarity Object-based Programming

Qlarity (pronounced "Clarity") is an object-based programming language designed by QSI Corporation for our intelligent graphic operator interface terminals. This BASIC-like, scripted, graphic terminal programming language uses objects to display information on the screen, accept user input and communicate with other devices. Other standard programming features such as conditional logic (IF-ELSE), looping (WHILE, FOR-NEXT) and a rich set of logical and arithmetic operators are also provided.

Qlarity Foundry

Qlarity Foundry offers an integrated design environment for the Qlarity Language. This PC-based software (Windows® 9x, 2000, ME, NT, XP) assists in developing screens and applications for Qlarity-based graphic operator interface and mobile data terminals. Qlarity Foundry allows you to easily use objects to create screens, simulate functionality on your PC, debug the program and download applications to your graphic terminal.

QTERM-G58 Model Information

The low-cost G58L model is equipped with one EIA-232 serial port. The G58E model includes wired Ethernet and a single serial multiport (software-selectable EIA-232/422/485 serial port).

The G58B model integrates a single serial multiport with an internal lithium-polymer battery pack for portable operation.

The G58L and G58B models may optionally include 802.11b/g wireless Ethernet.
